Part 2 Cloned Number Plates – The Silver Lining…
Well, finally, after months of toing and froing with TFL, they have agreed to cancel the ULEZ charges after realising that a Black KIA and a Silver Citroen are not the same vehicle, regardless of the number plate.
Though I ended up registering new plates with DVLA, as you know, someone else may end up using the old plates at some point.
The Challenge
There was no sympathy at all that I was going through chemotherapy at the time. As much as I’m thankful it’s now over, that still doesn’t help with the stress during this long, shambolic process, every much guilty until proven innocent, though saying that, I believe the media reported there are over 20K ghost plates in London alone, as other drivers are going through similar issues.
Always worth challenging government departments, especially when you can prove it’s not your vehicle, though you would think the person who cloned the plates would have the intelligence to at least put it on the same make and model vehicle?
