Welcome
to
My Journey

After receiving shocking news that I had developed Prostate Cancer at an aggressive stage for a 70-year-old, and only being in my mid-50s, I feel compelled to spread the word to all fellow men coming up to their 40s to get PSA tested, even if I help save one man, from this hidden killer, and this is was all down to me failling off a ladder before I had any symptoms.

I’m building this website as we go, so some things may be missing while I populate various topics and work on the roadmap ahead to recovery. Ding-Ding the Hospital Bell…

Please promote the site where possible. Although it is open and not fully populated, that’s the point: this is a journey to recovery!

Spread the word to all fellow men

1 in 8 men get prostate cancer, and if you’re Black, your risk is double. Together, we’re supporting our dads, brothers, partners and friends – by raising awareness, funding lifesaving research, campaigning for change and providing helpful support and information.

Just Giving has now reached over 1K – Truly humbling beyond words… Let’s give more and help everyone!

Here is the thing…

I wanted my journey website to be upbeat, positive, and full of life, rather than just cold text and boring. We all have so much to live for, and all our journeys are far from over. I like to view this as a minor bump in the road of life’s challenges.

Though the challenge is more about maintaining a positive mindset, regardless of the situation, which should be colourful, bright, and super bold, and focusing on what’s happening today! Forget yesterday; be happy now, as today is all we know right now… Simple, but smile and everyone will smile back!

Messages are coming in… See, my plan is already working! (Get TEST)

A quote from my awesome big brother, Gary! “Still upset for my brother that I love a lot and wish I could take that away, but the fight is on 👊🏻👊🏻 love you”

Phil Houston’s message! I need to tell you, as I know it’s central to one of the things you want to achieve out of all this, that I had my PSA test, and it came back normal. You made me do it! Phil Houston: Best Wishes, Mate!

More to follow…

Keep Positive Mindset Going...

A PSA test is a blood test to help check for prostate conditions such as prostate cancer or an enlarged prostate. It’s a hidden killer cancer, even if you feel fine get it checked out today!

I want to thank everyone who has not only donated to this amazing Prostate Cancer project, but has also promoted what I wanted to achieve with so much Love and Support. It does make you feel humble and that the world isn’t such a bad place after all. If we can save just one life or prolong it, allowing families to spend more time with their loved ones — whether Dads, Grandads, Uncles, Friends, or even that one guy on the street who needs help — this has to be a 100% win-win for all. Thank you!

I want to raise £500.00 to buy an audio mixer, as I would like to share my journey in an audio podcast. Any extra money that may be gained will be passed back to various charities, including prostatecanceruk.org, and the outstanding work of the Maidstone Kent Oncology Centre, which does remarkable work every day of the week.

“The goal has already been reached, which is truly amazing, but we want to give to as many charities as possible.”

Please keep prompting and giving.

Thanks, Mike

Hi, can i say thank you to Terry W who left Mike the duck for me to find at Smallhythe Place - National Trust today, it was as if he was meant for me to find. I have passed Mike onto my husband who is also called Mike and he is going to become my husbands cancer buddy after he was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. So they will travel this journey together. Thank you for an amazing little gift from the little yellow duck project org! - Sandie Thompsett (Mike's Wife)
