Something I’ve been meaning to mention for a while, Pembury A&E was where I first ended up, “San said.” Right, we are off to the hospital; this can’t continue. You’ve been in so much pain! The A&E, Nurses, and Doctors who found my diagnosis to be prostate cancer within a matter of hours.

Most normal PSA levels are below 2.5; mine was 1800, so a tad high, you could argue. This, of course, was a dangerous level, and what was found was a much older gentleman’s level, not a 55-year-old or older.

Without going into the full details here, I ended up staying for 5 nights while they carried out additional tests, including CT, MRI, and Nuclear scanning, as well as the help of Mophine and Paracetamol. However, I wasn’t a big fan of Mophine that didn’t agree with me, but it did help with pain management at the time.

The staff there were truly amazing, and the word ‘amazing’ doesn’t even do it justice; the work they do at such speeds is remarkable beyond words.

Thank you to all the staff members, but also to the on-site Macmillan Cancer Support team, who help us with a stack of paperwork for long-term Cancer support.

I would also like to express my gratitude to the professional A&E staff, from reception to the top, for the short time I spent there. The rooms and attention to detail are beyond words!

So, here is the deal: if you’re 40 or older, go and get the PSA test done at your local GP. It’s a simple blood test that gives you peace of mind. Do it today!!

The main photo we found online, but we were unable to determine who supplied it. I will, of course, credit the person as soon as we identify them.

San & I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
