Stodgy Velvet Cake

Stodgy Velvet Cake

Most of us love cake, right?

Well, it was a busy day clearing out the work van, with my brother in tow to take the beast away for general services and maintenance, so it was a clear-out of all the accumulated rubbish and sorting out the tools.

This was a bit of a challenge and a half, as chemotherapy and biopsy have taken their toll on the body, as I wasn’t looking forward to this, but saying that, we finally got it done. However, I needed a lot of help; I don’t have the strength right now to lift things. But then again, taking life a bit easier these days is a good thing, especially towards my recovery.

So, back to the cake drama, if you can call it that, how does a Tek guy manage to read simple instructions? You add Milk or Water, not both, you idiot! Hey ho, wouldn’t be me if I didn’t read the packaging properly. Now, bear in mind that the wife is a chef (San) who found this most amusing, but humoured my new what they call in the trade a stodgy red velvet cake. Maybe wait a bit longer before signing up for British Bake Off, Paul; he doesn’t like a soggy bottom!

On the flip side, I had a few side effects from the chemo, with an odd shaky hand and some odd twitching of the hand and a few other oddities, though not feeling too bad, just very tired from a long day and managed to get loads of sleep, which is a first in months and San was supprised I was still in bed at 6 am this morning and not blogging at that silly hour.
