Great Weekend…

Great, Times & Catch-ups…

After a few weeks of battling with chemotherapy, we had a rejuvenating weekend. It was a time well spent with friends, family, and my amazing wife, San, who has been my pillar of strength. While her support is invaluable, it’s crucial to remember that San’s well-being is just as important!

Saturday morning started with seeing my eldest, Amy, for a cup of tea and a general catchup, which was long overdue, while San was having her hair cut in preparation for Paul & Amanda’s Wedding reception later in the day.

Next, we caught up with some great old friends, Neil & Sharon, just across the street from Amy’s at the local Coffee shop, for another well-deserved catchup.

Then we popped off to the Range for a bit and had a spot of lunch, and headed home to rest and get ready for the evening’s wedding reception, which we both had been looking forward to.

Wedding Reception
San & I both had a lovely time at Paul & Amanda’s Wedding reception. The atmosphere was relaxed yet buzzing, with Amanda’s daughter performing a few impressive numbers. Although I didn’t know some of the songs she sang, it was still a delightful performance. We also had the chance to catch up with some faces we hadn’t seen in a long time, which was a great opportunity to reminisce about old times and some of the funny things we used to get up to. It was a brilliant evening and a lovely ending to the day.

Sunday, back on the Radio for the 10 am start of my radio show, Survival of the 80s. As always, I shared a silly TikTok video, this time featuring Jeff the cow in the picture, although I was late posting this weekend’s TikTok video.

Later, we popped over to Icklesham to the Robin Hood pub for a Sunday roast and a small walk along Winchelsea Beach. Sadly, it was just too windy, and San could see I was starting to get a little jaded, as around 3 pm is when my energy tends to run low. The only option is to go home and chill on the sofa.

Quick thought
When we’re facing challenges, whether it’s cancer, mental health issues, or a loss, it’s important to remember that support should be mutual. The next time you ask someone how they’re doing, remember to check in on the person supporting them. They often bear a silent burden and could use some care and understanding as well.
