Reality Check 2026…
Sadly, two friends I know recently passed away from related illnesses, which always sends a harsh reminder that we are all on borrowed time and no one gets out alive. Sharing this helps keep us focused on what truly matters in life, encouraging us to cherish each moment. “Our thoughts go out to their families” xxx

One of my radio colleagues was recently diagnosed with various issues and was possibly too far along to really save their life. However, there is always hope. Even if you’re told it’s terminal, the word’ terminal’ can be misleading, as we are all terminal from birth, right? Remembering this can help us stay resilient and hopeful in tough times.
On That Happy Note
Approximately 6 months down the line, from my first diagnosis, I had been through six sessions of chemotherapy, with various scans & tests, oh, not forgetting the countless number of cannulas in both arms, a small price to pay to get us to the next level.
At The Next Crossroads
CT & Nuclear scans were completed over the last few days. We now wait for the test results, unlike the MIR scan, which, for most, is scarier. Sharing my experience with these scans aims to promote understanding and a positive outlook for others facing similar procedures, especially with the comfort of knowing I found ways to cope, like thinking of my grandson.
For some reason, even though I’ve had all three scans before, I was hesitant. Having a few weeks’ break from Hospital appointments and completing my Chemotherapy in Novemeber 2025, you soon forget about cannulas, blood tests, etc. You soon readapt; this is just part of the process.
Chritsmas 2025
Christmas was a fun time, a real down tools, where San & I were invited out to the Walnut Tacklers Support group Christmas lunch near West Malling, and we generally chilled out and shared time with family & friends. Not forgetting my Mum’s 83rd Birthday!
